New Site Design

September 14th, 2009

If you haven’t noticed, AMT Studios has been overhauled. I felt that it was time to create a much cleaner look and after taking some pointers from other blogs and the Apple homepage, I came up with what you see now. Over the course of the next few weeks there are more things I want to tweak to further refine the rest of the site. If you are having trouble seeing the changes, be sure to refresh your website cache by pressing [Ctrl] + [F5]. If you still encounter bugs, please send me an e-mail. Enjoy!

Server No More

August 30th, 2009

Just a quick update: The L4D server has been shutdown indefinately. A friend of mine who was hosting the server for free gave the whole box that it was on over to the guys at GMod Tower. I don’t really see the need to looking into setting up the server again as it was rarely used by anyone. That’s all for now!

Busy

August 12th, 2009

The reason for the delay in posts this time is the same reason there was delay in every other Blog entry: school and life. So on to the things that matter:

I’ve upgraded Wordpress to the latest version (2.8.4). They are cranking out updates like crazy and if weren’t for the fact they were automatic I’d probably never update the site.

A lot of people have been asking about the future of Prop Hunt. I haven’t been updating it unless a Garry’s Mod update broke it (and I get a flood of comments urging me to fix the problem which I don’t see until a week later because I rarely check comments). Apart from being busy the reason for the lack of new features is because I want to move Prop Hunt over to the Fretta gamemode base. I’ve been patiently waiting for Garry to release it in an update. Yes, I could download the Garry’s Mod beta and develop it on there, but then I’d have to support 2 different versions of the same mod. Just be patient. When Fretta is released expect to see a huge update for Prop Hunt!

As for my other mods, it is more than likely that there were updates to them since my previous blog post, so be sure to check the Mods section.

Earlier this week I randomly decided to check on my mirror servers for FPS Banana (one of the largest game customization networks on the net). I’m proud to say that AMT Studios is now one of the largest mirrors with roughly 1 TERABYTE of mirrored files and on average 25 GIGABYTES of bandwidth used every day. These statistics were unexpected, but welcomed! Because AMT Studios hosts so many files it means more people will see my logo when downloading something and percentage of those people will click through to my site!

Lastly, some of you may or may not have noticed the random ads that appear on the front page every now and again. As much as I’d like to, I DO NOT get paid for posting those there. They are mainly things I really like or strongly support. Think of them as small updates to let you know my site isn’t dead.

Versus

May 27th, 2009

The official AMT Studios Left 4 Dead server has switched over to running the versus maps. I’m hoping this switch will get more traffic to the Left 4 Dead server. In the future when I have money to spare I might run contests for the best versus team where the winners get copies of a game on Steam or something like that.

Distracted

March 6th, 2009

I haven’t posted here in a while as I’ve been extremely busy with school and life lately. Only 3 more weeks left in the quarter.

What you probably care from all the things going on in my life is I’ve been doing small updates to my mods. v1.13 of Prop Hunt caused a lot of players to troll my comments because I supposedly changed gameplay too much for no reason. If any of you are reading this …

My dissapointment in the internets didn’t stop the bitching, though, so I had to make a quick patch to get everyone to shutup (explaining the changes wouldn’t work because all the idiots wouldn’t be able to understand my reasons anyways). v1.14 of Prop Hunt has more refined versions of the changes I made in v1.13 as well as a few other fixes. Check it out in the Mods section.

Lambda Research

December 22nd, 2008

I was driving back from Costco yesterday when I saw this:

Next time I’m out that way I’ll bring my camera and take a better picture.

Fail Blog

December 15th, 2008

I realize the daily blogging idea has already failed. I’m going to use the fact it’s finals week as an excuse, but it really isn’t. I haven’t been that busy.

The past few days I made a few changes to the site. I upgraded WordPress to v2.7 and added gravatars to post comments.

And there is a new version of my Recurring Invoices mod. View the changelog here.
